Internal Fellowships

Continuing Student Internal Fellowships

Each fall, Graduate Studies, in conjunction with the Graduate Council, conducts an Internal Fellowship competition for continuing academic graduate students. This application is used to award fellowship funding for the 2015-16 academic year (October 1, 2015, through July 1, 2016).  A "continuing student" is a student who has already been officially admitted to UC Davis, is registered and enrolled in classes during the current academic year (2014-15), and will be registered and enrolled during the 2015-16 academic year.  Online application is due December 1.

Graduate Students who are planning to travel to conferences and meetings can also apply for travel awards. These awards are given twice a year, and range from $250 (for travel within the state) to $1000 (for international travel). Applications are made through the graduate program.

H. A. Jastro Shields

The program makes awards to students with outstanding research proposals. A call for applications is sent to students late winter quarter and due in early spring quarter. Awards are available in August.

Erika C. H. Meng Scholarship Fund

The Erika C. H. Meng Scholarship Fund for Development Policy and Research supports ARE graduate students in bridging applied development research and policy, as Erika did so well in her life. As an endowed fund, this scholarship provides seed funding for graduate students to initiate applied fieldwork, travel to present findings at meetings and conferences, or collaborate with appropriate policy research and development agencies.

CCWAS IGERT

The CCWAS IGERT is funded by the US National Science Foundation through the Integrative Graduate Education Research Traineeship (IGERT) program.

International Fellowships and Partnerships

International Agency Funded Scholarships - There are a number of international agency sponsored agencies that have signed a specific agreement with our campus to provide funding for students and scholars to attend UC Davis.

The Republic of Chile and the State of California have had a longstanding relationship of cooperation and collaboration since the launch of the Chile-California Program in 1963. This program sought to promote technical cooperation between Chile and California in areas such as agriculture, education, water resource management, and highway transportation.

China Scholarship Council

An agreement between the China Scholarship Council (CSC) and UC Davis provides an important collaboration of designated doctoral (Ph.D.) research programs and joint Ph.D. training programs. This program has the potential, if fully implemented, to provide a total of up to $8 million in graduate student support to top prospective students from China.

Financial Aid

Financial Aid is not available for students with F1 or F2 Student Visas, J1 or J2 Exchange Visitor Visas, or G Series Visas. To be eligible to receive need-based federal, state, or University funding you must be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen.

International students may also be eligible for alternative loans through a private lender. The Graduate Financial Aid Office recommends that you research available loan products to determine which one best meets your needs.
