UC Davis Agricultural and Resource Economics

Research Interest Statement

My recent and ongoing research focuses on the various economic impacts of government sponsored agricultural marketing programs, with emphasis on marketing orders and commodity commissions. I have participated in studies of the impacts of quantity controls (including prorate and reserves), quality controls, and advertising and promotion programs. Some of the commodities covered include apples, citrus, almonds, avocados, kiwifruit, walnuts and prunes. I have also had an ongoing interest in the impacts of federal income taxes on agricultural investments.
