For Prospective Students
The Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at UC Davis offers graduate training in the economics of agriculture, international development, and the environment and natural resources. Our program is rigorous and demanding, but tempered with humanity.
We offer three degrees: M.S., M.S./M.B.A., and Ph.D. In these pages you will find key information about our program, including the program philosophy, application procedures, financial aid, and course offerings. Our graduate handbook provides you with all the relevant information about expectations, procedures, and requirements to be met as you make your way toward your degree objective.
We are pleased to announce a new Diversity and Inclusion in Research, Education and Career Training (DIRECT) program starting in Fall 2021. MS applicants who are California residents are eligible to apply for a Diversity in Agricultural and Resource Economics (DARE) fellowship which provides up to two years of full funding and matches students with a faculty mentor. Program and application information will be updated on this website before the start of the Fall 2021 term.
