Ph.D. student Xiurou Wu Awarded North American Association of Fisheries Economists (NAAFE) Best Student Presentation

ARE Ph.D. student Xiurou Wu recently won First Prize in the Best Student Presentation Award competition hosted by the North American Association of Fisheries Economists (NAAFE). The competition is normally held at the biennial meeting of NAAFE, but was held remotely over a two-week period this year due to Covid. Presentations were judged on quality of visuals, presentation style, time management and content. Xiurou’s presentation was entitled “A Spatial Dynamic Model of Commercial Fishermen’s Trip Decision-Making”, drawn from a chapter in her thesis co-supervised by Jim Wilen and Jim Sanchirico.
