Rubén Irvin Rojas Valdés: Assistant Professor at Center for Research and Teaching in Economics

After completing his Ph.D., Irvin Rojas will join the Department of Economics at the Center for Research and Teaching in Economics (CIDE) in August, 2018. As an assistant professor, Irvin will teach and research on econometric methods for program evaluation and structural econometric modeling. In his dissertation, "Strategic interactions and dynamic behavior in migration in Rural Mexico" Irvin analyzes the strategic and dynamic components of migration, schooling, and labor force participation of households and individuals in rural Mexico using reduced-form models and structural econometric models. Irvin's dissertation committee co-chairs are C.-Y. Cynthia Lin Lawell and J. Edward Taylor. Travis Lybbert is also on his dissertation committee.
