Professor Emeritus Philip Martin's Research on Immigration and Farm Labor Cited in Bloomberg Opinion Piece about Reality of Mechanization Replacing Workers

Agricultural and Resource Economics Professor Emeritus Philip Martin—also editor of Migration News and Rural Migration News, and chair of UC Comparative Immigration & Integration Program—is quoted in an opinion piece about how much of a reality it is for robots to be able to replace all farm labor.

Dr. Martin's cited research includes how the expansion of labor-intensive commodities such as strawberries are creating jobs that are otherwise being lost to mechanization in commodities such as raisin grapes.
