Agricultural and Resource Professor Emeritus Philip Martin—also chair of UC Comparative Immigration & Integration Program and editor of Migration News and Rural Migration News—is quoted in the LA Times article "Amid rising tensions between President Trump and California, L.A. honors the braceros."
Dr. Martin is quoted as saying about the total number of Mexican nationals who participated in the "Bracero" program, "The same person could come back year after year. No one knows exactly how many unique individuals participated—1.5 million is the best guess."
