Meilin Ma: Assistant Professor at Purdue University

In August 2018, Meilin Ma will join Purdue University as an assistant professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics. Meilin's research keeps a balanced focus on theory and econometric application. Her primary research interests include resource allocation and producer organizations along supply chains, market structure, and agricultural/food policy. Meilin's dissertation, Earthbound Labor and Transitory Land Arrangements in China, is an integrated piece and examines the distorted allocation of farmland and labor under imperfect land tenure and limited social benefits granted to Chinese agricultural households. Her dissertation chair is Richard Sexton and dissertation committee members include Lovell Jarvis, Kevin Novan, and Jeffrey Williams.
