K. Aleks Schaefer: Assistant Professor at Royal Veterinary College, University of London

While finalizing his Ph.D. in the summer of 2017, K. Aleks Schaefer started working for the World Bank. In January 2018, he moved to the Royal Veterinary College, University of London, where he is currently a lecturer (assistant professor) in agribusiness and an affiliate of the Veterinary Epidemiology, Economics, and Public Health (VEEPH) group and the Leverhulme Centre for Integrative Research on Agriculture and Health (LCIRAH). In his dissertation, The Economics of Artemisinin and the Global Spread of Malaria, Schaefer uses a combination of theoretical, econometric, and numerical modeling techniques to address policy questions related to the artemisinin market. Schaefer's dissertation committee chair was Professor Rachael Goodhue and his dissertation committee members were Distinguished Professor Colin Carter and Professor Richard Sexton.
