Ph.D. Candidates Practice Conference Talks and Receive Advice from Professors and Peers
Aug. 3, 2017
Ph.D. students give presentations and professors offer advice on how to improve them in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics.
“Begin with the research question and use concise phrases on the slides” were among the many tips professors gave Ph.D. students in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics (ARE).
In preparation for talks they gave at the Agricultural & Applied Economics Association (AAEA) Annual Meeting July 30-Aug. 1, ARE Ph.D. students performed practice runs to professors and fellow students in the department conference room. The AAEA talks are among the opportunities available to ARE Ph.D. students to present their research to colleagues and hiring organizations.
