Ted Gilliland: Assistant Professor at Mount Holyoke College

Ted Gilliland will join the Economics Department at Mount Holyoke College as an assistant professor. Ted Gilliland’s research is at the intersection of natural resource economics and development economics. He has a particular interest in understanding the development implications of conservation policies. In his dissertation, he combines local CGE modeling, bioeconomic modeling, and household survey data to simulate the impact of tourism on natural resource use and poverty in the Philippines. His dissertation committee members are Jim Sanchirico, Ed Taylor, and Jim Wilen.
