Brittney Goodrich: Cooperative Extension Assistant Professor at Auburn University

May 15, 2017

Brittney Goodrich will join Auburn University as an assistant professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology in August 2017. There she will develop a Cooperative Extension program focusing on risk management to serve Alabama’s agricultural industries. Brittney’s research interests include farmer decision-making under uncertainty, agricultural contracting, and agricultural policy issues. Her dissertation titled, “The California Almond Pollination Market: Contracts and Honey Bee Colony Health,” focuses on the use of colony strength requirements in California almond pollination contracts as a key mechanism for almond growers to mitigate uncertainty in procuring managed honey bee colonies for pollination services—an essential input to almond production. Her dissertation chair is Rachael Goodhue and other dissertation committee members include Jeffrey Williams and Dan Sumner.
