Justin Beaudoin: Economics at Colgate University
April 28, 2015
Justin Beaudoin has accepted a position as a visiting assistant professor in the Department of Economics at Colgate University. Justin’s research focuses on urban transportation policy, studying the interaction between public sector investment decisions and the existing regulatory policies in place. His dissertation examines how the public transit investment decision should be affected by taxes on automobile travel and estimates the effect that past changes in public transit supply have had on observed traffic congestion and air quality in the U.S. over the previous two decades, highlighting the observed heterogeneity across cities. Justin’s dissertation committee members are C.-Y. Cynthia Lin (co-chair), Y. Hossein Farzin (co-chair) and Douglas Larson.
