Matt Reimer: University of Alaska, Anchorage

Matt Reimer will join the Department of Economics and the Institute of Social and Economic Research at the University of Alaska Anchorage. Matt is a natural resource economist whose research combines bioeconomic modeling, econometric analysis, and numerical methods to investigate issues related to resource extraction industries, such as oil and gas, geothermal energy, forestry, and fisheries. Matt's dissertation explores the micro foundations of the fishery production process and the implications of ignoring fundamental decision variables when evaluating and predicting the outcomes of fishery policy interventions.
