Kelly Cobourn: AAEA Outstanding Ph.D. Dissertation Award

Kelly Cobourn, ARE Ph.D Graduate, received the Outstanding Ph.D. Dissertation Award from the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association (AAEA). Kelly was honored for her dissertation, "Incentives for Individual and Cooperative Management of a Mobile Pest: An Application to the Olive Fruit Fly in California," at the AAEA annual meeting held in Denver, Colorado on July 25-27, 2010. ARE Professors Rachael Goodhue and Jeffrey Williams co-chaired Kelly's dissertation committee.

This is the second consecutive year that a UC Davis graduate student has won this exceptional award, and the seventh time since 1998. Kristiana Hansen won in 2009. Other recipients from UC Davis included Tian Xia (2005), Martin Smith (2002), John Crespi (2001), James Sanchirico (1999), and Nicholas Piggott (1998).
