League of Nations - Statistical and Disarmament Documents

Statistical yearbooks and other documents from the League of Nations have been scanned and are available (.pdf format). Minimally searchable; this is maybe the only place to locate demographic and economic data from a number of countries during the 1920s, 30s and early 40s. From Northwestern University public documents librarians.

Per Capita Food Consumption Data System

Database contains data on nearly 300 commodities, as well as information concerning population, the nutrient content of the food supply, and prices and expenditures related to food consumption. Data are available for 30+ years in Excel (the entire file is viewable, and most files contain multiple spreadsheets). The poultry file, for example, contains four spreadsheets: broilers, other chicken, total chicken, and turkey.

USDA Agricultural Marketing Service

AMS provides current, unbiased price and sales information to assist in the orderly marketing and distribution of farm commodities. Reports include information on prices, volume, quality, condition, and other market data on farm products in specific markets and marketing areas. Reports cover both domestic and international markets.

World Trade Report

The main WTO research publication on global trade policy, with special topics, analysis, and new developments is being published every July. World Trade report for 2003 starts with a report on trends in world trade over the previous year and some observations about prospects for the current year. It takes up three issues of topical interest in international trade: developments in South-South trade, trends in non-oil commodity markets, and the growth of regional trade agreements. The second section of the WTR 2003 addresses the topic of trade and development.

This web site has influenced the Congressional debates on the new Farm Bill. Went public in November, 2001. Represents the period from 1996 to the present.

A collective effort by all USDA agencies to explain the new farm bill provisions and their implementation.
